Video Summary
Eli reflects on his 75 years of life and 44 years as a psychotherapist, sharing how a deep inner drive to understand people, heal, and learn guided his personal transformation and career. He describes the “Eli Effect” as an internal, soul-based GPS system from a higher dimension that leads individuals toward growth when they trust it over the ego’s fear-based programming. By manifesting intentions through the quantum field and engaging in various physical, psychological, and spiritual healing modalities, Eli learned to release repressed memories and attachments.
The Driving Force of Understanding and Growth
- Eli describes having a lifelong hunger to understand human behavior, starting in childhood with his parents and continuing into his teenage years.
- Alongside this curiosity, he developed a strong drive to learn, heal, and grow, spending hours studying Christian Catholic mystics and spiritual traditions during his late teens and early twenties.
- Early mentors, such as Father Leo, inspired Eli through their wisdom and life journeys.
The Eli Effect as an Internal GPS
- The Eli Effect acts as an otherworldly, higher-dimensional GPS system for the soul that guides a person’s life journey when trusted.
- Eli contrasts this inner guidance system with the ego, which focuses on survival but is driven by past traumas, fears, and judgments.
- Major life transitions, such as moving to Colorado without knowing what lies ahead, demonstrate how trusting this force creates meaningful life connections.
Harnessing the Power of the Quantum Field
- The quantum field contains all possibilities, allowing individuals to attract opportunities and support when they align their intentions with it through practice like meditation.
- Eli shares how putting his book goals into the quantum field attracted essential support, including his publisher and key collaborators.
- Synchronistic experiences, such as learning about Kabbalah and meeting contacts who led him to live in a log cabin, illustrate how the quantum field brings opportunities into reality.
Exploring Healing Modalities and Releasing Baggage
- Throughout his career, Eli engaged with numerous therapeutic practices, including Jungian psychology, psychodrama, Rolfing, authentic movement, rebirthing breathwork, EMDR, internal family systems, and pineal gland meditation.
- Although he initially studied these methods to help his therapy clients, Eli realized they were essential tools for processing his own past and achieving personal wholeness.
- Suppressed emotions remain stored in the physical and emotional body, but techniques like breathwork allow these blocks to be felt and released.
Releasing Attachments and Honoring Body Memory
- Attachments to third-dimensional distractions or substances can lower a person’s vibration and block them from fulfilling their true soul purpose.
- Citing psychodrama creator Dr. Moreno, Eli emphasizes that “the body remembers what the mind forgets,” meaning unconscious memories and traumas continue to trigger present-day reactions until addressed.
- Clearing out stored physical and emotional baggage is necessary to activate intuition, intuition-based guidance, and fully experience the positive guidance of the Eli Effect.

Hola! Welcome to the Eli Effect podcast number two. Today I wanted to continue talking about the Eli Effect and what it’s about, but mainly how it helped me in my life. And this is part of chapter one where I explain it, then I’ll go deeper into all of this and then start talking about the healing modalities, the awarenesses, the consciousness level and that. So what I realized looking back over these 75 years that I’ve been on the planet in the 44 years I’ve been a psychotherapist is I’ve always had this desire to understand people. Now I think it started obviously with our parents, you’re right, why did my dad drink so much, why did my mom put up with his bullshit, his temper, all those things. And then as I got older into my teen years I started to you know socialize more. Why is this person acting like this, why is that person acting like that. And it just built and built and built. So that was in my soul. Okay, that was going to guide me that hunger because I’m sure there were friends I had maybe even my twin brother that didn’t have that same hunger for understanding people going on. The other hunger I had is a hunger to learn and to grow and to heal to get stronger. And in my teenage years, it was there a little bit the learning. But when I got to my late teens, early twenties, early twenties, I started to read a lot of different books about healing, about how things work here, why people act the way they do. And I’ll get into some of this in a little bit. But there was that hunger. And I felt weird, you know, back in the day, you know, 18, 19, 20, 21. And I was into my partying and the hippie that I was. But at night when I come home from work and you know, maybe take a nap and that before I go out with my friends, I would spend about an hour to two hours reading things. Christian Catholic mystics as an example. Okay. Learning about a lot of different spiritual traditions of that. And then I would go out around 830 or nine and probably get high and you know, stay out late and you know, chase girls and everything else that we were doing back then. But even then, as I look back at this journey, it was there already. It’s almost like I had to study before I could go out and party. So that was there growing. I had a couple of mentors that were very inspiring for me, like Father Leo. He was the pastor for our church and his journey. He was like the Martin Luther King in Panama before a King came along, stirring up the pot there. And that, well, this was a man I admired. I wanted to get to know what what’s going on with this guy? You know, and he came here, you know, he left Panama on that. But his wisdom was amazing. All the stuff we could talk about. And yeah, we would play cards sometimes. And I’d be sitting there asking him questions. And he’s just one example of what was going on. The Eli Effect, that force is kind of like a GPS system, okay, for your soul. And we got to learn to trust that. It’s going to guide you, even though you don’t know where the heck you’re going sometime. But think of your, the Eli Effect. And as I was preparing for this second podcast, you know, I’ve only used GPS once in my lifetime, because I did it in one of the Carolinas, and it took me, no, Virginia, and it took me about two hours out of my way. I’ve got a pretty good GPS in here and also in here. But it’s very effective if you trust it, okay? You know, it gets you all over this country and other countries, right? And I know a few of my friends use it religiously in that, and they love it. Even clients that come to my office, I just give them the address, they punch it in there. They don’t have to think about where they’re going. GPS gets them. That’s the Eli Effect. If you think about it as a metaphor, it’s guiding you, even though it seems crazy. It’s like an otherworldly force, and it is otherworldly. It’s not of this dimension, I don’t think, the third dimension. I think it’s in a higher dimension, you know, coming from more of the spiritual realm. It’s weird, you know, how it knows things, how it knows, okay, like when I moved to Colorado, knowing one person there, and how all that worked out for me to meet my rabbi. And there’s many other stories I’ll get into in the podcast later about how this led me to that, but that was one of my big moves, okay? Talk about skydiving, right? But we got to trust that force. And what we’re up against here, guys and gals, is this, the program, the ego, and the ego, you know, people want to pee on the ego a little bit. The ego helps our body survive, so let’s show some respect for it, but you don’t want it to be guiding your life. You want that GPS to be coming from your soul, not that, because it’s full of memories, traumas, programs, fear, judgment, and that. When you’re trusting the, what I call the Eli effect, that force inside of you, it’s going to guide your life, okay? It may seem crazy at times, but I guarantee you, I went through that. As I continued on this journey, I was learning a lot of techniques to help people, to help people heal, and I’m going to get into a bunch of these in a little bit here. But what I realized, of course, is it was all for me, okay? It’s kind of like one of my favorite movies is The Field of Dreams with Kevin Costner. And he was building this baseball field, and they said, build it and he will come. Well, what he didn’t realize until the end is, it wasn’t about the players coming out and playing, even though they were all dead. It’s a metaphor. It was for him. And so, learning all of these techniques that I’ve learned to help my clients, actually helped me put my Humpty Dumpty back together. Okay, now I got them all for everybody else. The coolest thing is the quantum field. Now, I know people call it the spiritual realm and let’s not get caught up in the names. But my buddy, Joe Dispenza, talks about the quantum field, saying that all possibilities are there. And that’s very Torah and Kabbalah, what I learned from Rabbi Joe. It’s fractals. All possibilities are there, okay? Okay. We, if we trust it and stimulate it, we can get guided by the quantum field. All right? That’s another way of looking at your soul. For instance, you know, when I decided to write this book, when I do my meditations, and I do a lot of meditating, and I would put it in the quantum field, about getting the help I needed to make this book happen. Holy cow! You know, the publisher came out of nowhere. My friend Steve, that helped with a lot of this, that he’s our internet guy and a good friend of mine. All these other things, the support was coming out. It’s like, holy cow. But what I was doing was, when I meditate, I would put it into the quantum field, not like I’m begging, I want this or that. It’s already happened. I’m a best-selling author of two million copies. And everything came from that, the quantum field. Did it come overnight? No. It’s not like FedEx or anything like that. But it happens. And I want to give you two examples of how I was led here. Back in the later 1990s, I got into the Flower of Life workshops from a friend of mine. I won’t get into that. And I went, traveled a little bit, and Drunvalo Melchizedek, he’s the guy that created the Flower of Life. It’s a very spiritual program. And one time when I was in Colorado with him, a bunch of our people went, he came up to me and we were talking. And he said, “Tom, you want to learn Kabbalah.” He knew that. Okay. So, okay, first I had to look up what the frick is Kabbalah, right? And then I did. And I’ve always been drawn to the Jewish ways and understanding, you know, those people. So that was there. And a couple of years later, I was in Colorado again at a shamanic workshop, and I met my friend Roxanne. We became really good buddies. She’s a hippie gal like I am. And she’s the one that made the call, do you want to come and live in Colorado? There’s a log cabin. Now that’s how the universe works. I always wanted to live in a log cabin. She happened to have a log cabin. So anyway, meeting her at that workshop, becoming friends in that, when the call came, I moved. And while I’m within two weeks, Rabbi Joe’s there. So that’s how the quantum field works, but you’ve got to trust it. You know, it’s like, if you don’t trust it, you get stuck. So I want to go through some things in my journey of some of the wonderful things I’ve learned. First studying, like I said earlier, with the Catholic mystics. And then I got into Jungian psychology. I did the therapy for about a year. Then I got did a lot of talk therapy, but I figured out there were other things I could do with that. And then when I got sober, I got into psychodrama workshops. I did that for seven years, three or four times a year, clearing out the gunk. Then I, my friend, Susan got us into raw thing, which is like massage, but deep tissue massage to clear out the body, which led me into body therapy, bioenergenics, where I learned how to do body therapy, release stuff. And then Susan taught me authentic movement, authentic movement and trance dancing. She was a dance movement therapist. So I got into authentic movement. So it’s a more passive way of releasing stuff from your body. And that journey with the flower life got me into Bob Frissel’s world. I flew to California to learn something about flower life a little deeper. And I didn’t know it, but Bob had trained with Leonard or who taught him rebirthing the breath work that I do and teach. So that came about. And then the flower life got me into Ron and Lisa Holtz world. Other teachers that taught me contact work, how to make contact with the extraterrestrials, which led me into trauma work and eye movement therapy, EMDR. And then that led me into internal family systems therapy. I got trained in that and did it myself, opened me up to shamanism. Kabbalah, when Rabbi Joe showed up and then he and I with Rick Strassman’s guidance got into the pineal meditation, where we’re doing, stimulating the pineal gland to release the dimethyltryptamine, the DMT for a wonderful meditation experience. All of this came from the quantum field because it knew I was hungry. It was picking that up. And all these different people came in. My friend Susan led me to this. Dick Schwartz led me to that. My shamanism, everything is a chessboard. What I figured out, guys and gals, is we have repressed emotions. They’re in your emotional body, your physical body. And they’re just in there. They’re in your chakras. They’re just sitting there. And that’s what holds us back because a lot of times we don’t want to deal with what’s in there. Okay. But if we’re willing to feel it just for a little bit, like through breath work, when we teach rebirthing and that, boop, it’s gone. But you got to be willing to do that. Okay. We have no idea how our past is controlling us here. And I had to figure that out through all these modalities I just went through of learning about them and then doing them myself. Now, I’m not suggesting you do all of what I did. That’s crazy. That’s my journey. Okay. For whatever reason. Probably to help me write this book in my 70s. But try some of them. Like my rebirthing. I’m going to start teaching that more regularly to be there with people to guide them in that. The other thing I figured out, and one of them was my addiction, my third dimensional attachments. So my attachments to cocaine and getting high lowered my vibration. It was preventing me from living out my true soul’s purpose. Once I kicked that out of my life, thank God, and moved on, I’ve been soaring ever since. So if you look at your third dimensional attachments, whether it’s your job, your house, your spouse, whatever it is, Buddhists said attachments is the root of all sufferings. And I agree with that. Okay. As you look at it. I’m not saying don’t have a house or a spouse or anything like that. But be careful with how attached you are. Because if you’re over attached, the tension is there. You know, just let it be there and move on. The final thing I want to share today is, and I heard this from Dr. Marino. He’s the guy that created and put together the psychodrama therapy. And there was a quote of his I read, and it always stuck with me before I got into even psychodrama. You probably learned this in graduate school. The body remembers what the mind forgets. This thing is full of memories, subconsciously, unconsciously. And that’s why we get triggered so much, because it doesn’t forget anything. We forget what happened to us. You know, if you were hurt as a little kid. And that you may not have those cognitive memories, but the body remembers everything. And when you get close to reactivating it, the body is going to react as if it’s happening again and again. And so that’s why I’m such an embodied therapist. Let’s get in touch with the body. But the only way to do that, that I know, is you’ve got to help clear it out to activate your GPS, your spidey senses, your intuition. So to finish this up today, the Eli Effect is what I call the system, the GPS guy guiding my life. You can call yours whatever you want, but there is something inside of you, that force, that otherworldly force that’s going to guide your life. If you can trust it, and if you can do it, you’ll have an amazing ride like I have. And I’m still having a great ride. All right, enjoy your day. I’ll be working on podcast number three for the second chapter, but I hope this clarified deeply what the Eli Effect really is for me. God bless you guys. See you soon.
