Release & Heal
Psychodrama is a type of active experiential group therapy. The goal of psychodrama is to enact or reenact the emotional climate of the family of origin and/or other significant relationships. In re-experiencing these events and relationships, one is able to release the emotions that may have been blocked or repressed. The goal is to free a person from the unresolved emotional patterns in their relationships so that they are free to live in the present.
By re-experiencing the emotional climates of our families, repressed anger, shame, guilt, fear, etc., can be safely expressed, released and healed, making room for feelings of love, hope and forgiveness. The dynamic of group therapy helps to get beneath our denial as participants respond emotionally to the work of another group member. It is difficult for cognitive blocking to function when emotional healing is occurring. Experiential therapy is a very effective and useful tool for healing old pain and developing new possibilities for living.
NEW! Coffin Psychodrama Workshops
Get Busy Living… or Get Busy Dying!
Using an actual coffin as a prop the goal of this workshop is to help individuals find meaning and purpose in life and to confront their mortality and live more fully. Participants do this by reflecting on their lives and writing their own eulogies. This is a unique experience designed to help participants confront their regrets and start anew. Wake up and live more meaningfully!
